I am a science journalist, musician, and carer. I love all things science and science fiction, with a special focus on astronomy. I like to blog about my hospital work and my life-long love-hate relationship with the french horn. I also have a particular interest in the rights and well-being of disabled individuals. A revolution in compassionate care is needed in our world, not only in the hearts of the silent masses, but enacted in law, policy, and governance. I live in Cambridge, England, with my husband and two children. In a past life I was a music teacher. Now I work part-time in healthcare, and part time as a freelance journalist for magazines such as Sky and Telescope and The Space Review.
